I saw some pictures online and in here touting a nice academic building on the main SUBR campus but that is actually the SCIENCE building. This building is located across the street both to the south and the west of the old defunct cattle and dairy facilities which are now abandoned. These facilities I am describing are found at the northern end, the north gate of the SUBR campus.
IFUS has essentially selected a Ag cooperative extension service not what one would refer to as a peer capable facility that has the reputation and resources behind whatever report they may one day issue. The SUBR Ag center is a hub for the yearly huge livestock show, attended by students and faculty from all over the state. It’s a big social event if one is in that business.
IFUS has missed the mark, and missed it terribly. One has to wonder if this was done on purpose, as IFUS has a better chance of participating in the final outcome of whatever is written, using that facility.
Keep in mind to the southwest just down the road is Nichols State University, to the west UL Lafayette, and to the north west LSU Ag center and LSU main campus. All of these are within ONE HOUR drive of Napoleonville, La.
A favorable study and subsequent report from LSU would be a life changing event. Any report from the SUBR Ag center will become nice fodder on FaceBook
