Surprised you didn't look at a calendar. I had thought you had more Wall street knowledge. In case you were not aware, mid May 13F's(and other 13) report holdings held end of March by mid May. Has June 28 passed? You might learn a little bit about Biotech, indices and successful investing by studying, not just skimming, the posts to avoid incorrect 'aha' misstatements on your part. Yet another person misrepresenting my posts to forward their agenda.

In this post, I state that State street XBI fund BOUGHT 3.3 million shares --- so right in this sentence is the vast majority of SS's doubling of shares, as I accurately predicted in Mid March "I had previously downloaded March 14, and there were about 2.2 MM shares. I was busy on Monday, so I did not check, but there were 5.5 MM on Tuesday. A safe assumption is that they followed their rules. This occurred Friday at 4 p.m. " FYI 5.5 MM - 2.2 MM is 3.3 million shares purchased March 15. Today's 'discovery' of SS's doubling clearly discussed in March 20 post.

So what have I actually predicted -- not poster's misinformation:
In this post, I state that AVXL's lower position in the R2000 rank implies about 1/2 the shares held in R2000 and related market cap weighted funds. I don't have the actual total amount but suspect about 12 million shares held in these type funds so 6 million shares will change hands with the rebalance mostly on June 28.

If AVXL is below +/- 3.65 (MC of 300 MM) at the end of MAY, then XBI will sell all 5.5 million shares on June 28 --- not today, not tomorrow but on June 28. They will sell those shares to the institutional shorts in an efficient manner based on closing price June 28. If MC is > 300 MM, they remain in the XBI but there could be a share adjustment a little up or down

We need to wait until the mid August report to see the June 30 holdings. Expect 5-6 fewer shares based on R2000 selling or 10-12 million fewer shares if XBI removes AVXL (i.e. SP less than 3.65) (seeing State Street go to < 2 MM shares)
