Washington State Governor's Race take a Bizarre Turn

Bob Ferguson was the favored candidate to win the Washington State Governor's race. Washington now has the top two primary system where the two candidates with the most votes, regardless of party, qualify for the ballot in November. With hours to go before the entry deadline, two other Bob Fergusons entered the race. This clearly is an attempt to cause confusion and perhaps even change the outcome.

KIRO News reports: The state attorney general (the real Bob) says if the two do not withdraw their names they have sent a letter to the secretary of state to further investigate this.

Though the bogus Bobs are running as Democrats, this is clearly another Republican attempt to create chaos and clearly election interference.

The Seattle Times posted the following statement from Attorney General Ferguson:

Attorney General Bob Ferguson, the Democratic front-runner in the race, on Monday urged the two others to withdraw from the race by Monday’s 5 p.m. deadline or else risk felony charges.

Let us hope the real Bob is successful.

UPDATE: Per the Seattle Times, the legal threat has caused the two Bobs to withdraw.
