He has a 2 whip that is far from perfect, that is way too many baserunners. He has good stuff. But the Hype was over the top. All they wanted to tell us was not how he did, but how many pitches came in at or over 100 mph, I found once again not a skenes issue, but the presentation of it being all about the radar gun was a little over the top for me. What can I say I rather see someone throw at 95-97 and have control, than throw 102 and not nowhere it is going. Skenes might have good command in the long run as I said it is only 1 start just don't love the quest for the radar gun being confused with good pitching. Plenty of guys throw hard can make you pull your hair out, we see those guys constantly in the bullpen, so you can throw hard doesn't mean you know how to pitch which is far more important. Not saying skenes can't, but the hype machine wanted to make this about velocity.
