I don't think this CEO is stupid. I think she is ignorant, and that is a very different thing.

Things could be worse. Management could do a R/S and then borrow from a toxic lender. That would be so much worse. I think it would also be worse if "any idiot" took over as CEO and did stupid things like raising the price of the ActiPatch to $99 or $149 or whatever price that FaceBook savant is touting now.

Allowing the patents to expire in 2021 was bad though. I used to do patent research and I've never seen an ACTIVE manufacturing company allow their patents to expire for non-payment of maintenance fees before. Even dead companies maintain their patents because you never know whether or not you can sell them.

I don't know for certain whether or not BIEL can revive those patents, but it makes no sense to NOT revive the patents if they can. Delaying does not make it easier.

Ilfeld's opioid research is the one bright note here. If his timing is similar to his ghost pain research, AND if he doesn't opt to wait for the SofPulse opioid study to publish them together, he'll publish by the end of the year.
