there is a zero sum to game theory. It's both sides working together to achieve a common goal. Game theory can only predict what an adversary might do, it doesn't describe an end. It's simple math. 1+1=2 and we can argue that it actually equals 4 but the difference will always be the same outcome.

If you start adding variables like human emotions into the equations, then it starts to go off the rails.

It's not an end all be all, but it is a mathematical equation and does have a zero sum just like form equals functionality. Some may interpret the form in a different sense than the actual functionality but the end result is the same. You built houses just like I did and there's no way we went about it in the same manner. I still work with people who have different ways of doin things but the job gets done

To me it's highly overrated and many scholars spend way too much time with it but that's just me talking.
