The “big boys”, as you refer to them, are index funds that track the Russell 2000, not managed funds that have portfolio managers making stock picking decisions. To make investment decisions based on a false understanding of the institutions that currently own AVXL is to put your financial well being at risk. By the way, given how the stock has cratered, it’s quite possible AVXL will be dropped from the Russell 2000 when the annual rebalancing takes place in a couple of months. If that happens, the “big boys” who currently hold the stock will be dumping the shares.

It’s fine if you choose to invest in a risky biopharma company but at least know what you’re talking about.
