PR Newswire via COMTEX

May 7, 2002 7:00:00 AM

IRVINE, Calif., May 7, 2002 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ --

The Amanda Company (OTC Bulletin Board: AMNA) ( www.theamandacompany.com ), a leading supplier of call processing software, integrated solutions, and systems for industry-standard PC platforms, announced today the availability of their enterprise solution Amanda Global Attendant.

The Amanda Global Attendant is built as an enterprise solution on the Amanda Portal platform, a network centric call processing and messaging platform. 'This enterprise application implemented using Amanda Portal is an ideal example of the extensible, network architecture that we specifically designed into the product from the ground up over four years of research and development,'said Dr. Tim Morgan, Vice President of Technology.

'The Amanda Global Attendant allows for a company's multiple offices to have their incoming calls managed by a network of Amanda Portals to present to their callers a single, seamless, system that allows for call routing, call transfers, busy queuing, call distribution, and voice messaging, company wide regardless of location,'Dr. Morgan said. 'Furthermore, it can manage those calls using VoIP or the traditional PSTN.'

'One of the major value propositions for the Amanda Global Attendant is the ability to distribute calls over multiple offices,'said Mr. Brian Bonar, Chairman of the Board. 'This allows a company to leverage its employees for sales and support coverage by better managing call loads and time zones over geographically dispersed office locations.'

Mr. Stephen Fryer, Director, added that, 'Amanda Global Attendant is an ideal solution for those companies that want to present a single, memorable, telephone number to their customers and be able to transfer those calls cost effectively to any of the company's offices. Getting callers to the right people regardless of their location.'
