SilOrix engaging with NLM on the use of their polymers doesn't seem to likely be much of a competitor, however SilOrix does need to be very careful about divulging Lightwave's intellectual property to NLM or companies working with NLM. SilOrix very likely worked with LWLG under a NDA and depending on the wording of the NDA SilOrix would be limited in certain levels of developmental engagement with NLM. Applying some of NLM's polymers and selling devices with them might, down the line, lead to infringement of one or more of LWLG patents.

Clearly, NLM needs help to move forward if they are to survive. They may find a larger company with significant knowhow in Tokyo OHKA Kogyo. They are a company that manufactures a wide range of photoresists for the technology sector and their largest presence seems to be in semiconductor packaging solutions and advanced semiconductor manufacturing. They utilize advanced polymer based photoresists is semiconductor manufacturing. They made a one million dollar venture capital investment in NLM.

This seems like an entry ticket to NLM's operations, products and intellectual property in case they wanted to buy the company. They could be a significant competitor but could find it very difficult to work around the LWLG patents for product and manufacturing.
