I transcribed a piece of the Q&A from Lebby's panel on Sunday.

Moderator: Can you describe…how do you do that at the wafer scale?

Lebby: Well, poling typically is done at the glass transition temperature. So it’s not taking it that high in temperature, you ramp it up then down. Now…we’ve finessed that part of the process pretty well and we’re very happy with it and certainly we do that on wafer scale.

Moderator: So if you have 10,000 modulators on a wafer, how do you pole 10,000 at the same time?

Lebby: Well we have ways to do that, but I’m not going to go into detail here. Certainly, that’s something we’ve been working on the last 2 to 3 years, yes.
