From our hearts come our motives, desires, goals, and emotions.

Dear God, as I come to you today with a vow to rule over and take dominion over my emotions. I know that my emotions can often become overwhelming and lead me to make poor decisions. I pray that you will give me the strength to control my emotions and keep my heart pure. Help me to guard my heart against negative emotions such as anger, bitterness, and envy, and fill it with positive emotions such as love, joy, and peace. I trust in you Lord and I pray all of this in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
