Was reading up on Hal Lindsey and his cousin, Ralph Devore the other day (just search those names plus Zion Oil if you are interested). Yes, ancient history. Ralph owned 18% of the Zion Oil stock, and was a director. Hal never disclosed this when he promoted Zion Oil and gave his oil in Israel prophecy, which was immediately picked up by other Chrsitian evangelists and is probably why the idea is stuck in prophecy to this day.

Ralph wigged out mentally in 2004 amid denominational squables about the direction Zion Oil was going (as in is it Jewish, is it Christian, is it split) and stated God would never bless Zion Oil because it couldn't decide what it was and had divided loyaties. That was pretty much the end of Ralph working there and Hal pumping Zion Oil, But the idea stuck with the rest of the Christian community,,,to this day.
