Shocker: Lara Trump isn't qualified!

RNC member who nominated Lara Trump as co-chair appears to cast doubt on qualifications

Lara Trump, the daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump, was elected to be co-chair of the Republican National Committee on Friday, even as many critics have contended that she completely lacks the requisite qualifications for such a job.

Beth Bloch, an RNC member who officially nominated Trump for the position on Friday morning, seemingly alluded to this in her nomination speech.

"In a world where qualifications are often measured by titles and years of experience, we’re reminded of a truth: God does not call the qualified, He qualifies the called," Bloch said. "Lara Trump is the embodiment of this truth."

Trump's nomination to be RNC co-chair raised some eyebrows when first announced, given that her only qualification appears to be her relation to the former president.

These concerns were magnified when Lara Trump said last month that "every single penny" of RNC money "will go to the number one and the only job of the RNC — that is electing Donald J. Trump as president of the United States and saving this country."

She also threw down loyalty to her father-in-law as a litmus test for being a Republican in good standing.

"Anyone who is not on board with seeing Donald Trump as the 47th president and America-loving patriots all the way down the ticket being supported by the RNC is welcome to leave, because we are not playing games," she said. "And we have no time to waste."

Regardless, the RNC voted unanimously to back Lara Trump as co-chair.
