If anyone wants to see my theories about algorithmic manipulation and discuss them you are welcome to join me at the link below. I believe at the beginning of the day large blocks were loaded into the system, and end of day the books were balanced with a boat load of micro trades. Two different programs that had little impact on price, but did create some false appearances.
