Alas, I'm already involved. 3M was +400% from 2009 to 2018, but it's shockingly -65% since the 2018 high.

I plan to hold both the post-spin 3M and the new shares of Solventus, partly because my cost basis is so low, and partly because I still think 3M is a great company that can trigger a share-price turnaround when the dust settles from the various legal settlements.

Post spin-off I would guess that the dividend will not increase any more and could decrease.

Right. I expect the post-spin 3M to lower the dividend due to the absence of cash flow from the spun-off healthcare business; the combined dividends of the post-spin 3M and the pro rata shares of Solventus will likely equal or exceed the existing 3M dividend.
