Perhaps shares were loaned out by brokers to allow that, I don't know the mechanism, but obviously shares didn't have to settle for them to be repurchased and sold again. Computer algos can create incredible share turnover.

Not sure what you are even getting at.

The news was huge so it traded like crazy. After the incredible rise traders took profits so it went down in the afternoon, where I bought again at 10.26 to make a quick 50% after hours.

I don't claim to be some kind of expert on the mechanism of trading - I"ve simply said that I see no reason to appeal to conspiracy theories to explain the Lightwave stock action.

From what I"ve seen market tracking (amplified since it is a story stock) and retail sentiment drive this stock. That sentiment includes both retail longs and shorts.
