The fact that Luxshare was at designcon 2024 demonstrating with Macom their linear drive pluggable offerings for 50 meter and 500 meter distances as was pointed out on agoracom isn’t what Meta is asking for from Luxshare Jmo.

In this video from last year OFC the Meta representative stated in her presentation they have selected FR4 as the standard for their interconnect technology. They will use DAC’s for 2 meters and shorter. They want FR4 lite for above 2 meters to 500 meters. Those transceivers are to be without the DSP to get the voltage down.

Over 500 meters they will use standard Fr4 transceivers with a DSP. Her presentation is the second one, after nvidia.

We have heard nothing from Poet or Luxshare or Meta on how those transceivers are coming along. Good, bad or ugly.
