So here is something very interesting as it relates to patents. It seems to me that Dr. Missling has his name on many if not all of the recent patents that have been approved or waiting to be approved. That means that if the patents eventually get sold or licensed out he stands to make a fortune in royalties. I think the owner of the 2-73 patent gets approximately 5% once the drug starts to provide revenues to the company. If missling gets a similar deal he stands to make about $50M per billion sold. This is on top of his $700K salary and stock options. If the stock goes to $75 based on $1B of 371 product sold his total comp for this would be $75pps - say $5( his avg. option cost ) = $70pps X 8M shares that he has control over. That is $560M + $50M for patent royalties on the $1B in sales. That would give him approx. $610M on $1B in sales with his name on the patent. If we go to $105 based on say $1.5B in sales that would be $75M in patent royalties and $800M in stock or $875M in total comp + his $700K salary. He needs to get 371 to the finish line so he can really take advantage of his compensation.
