This may have been cited in a paper before, but below is a personal experience that I want to share.

My better half has had several neuro-type tests recently with different professionals. Today, one of these folks told her that a big issue for those with sleep apnea are highly susceptible to Alzheimer's as the apnea reduces the oxygen getting to the hippocampus, which results in its shrinkage.

Not sure if blarcamesine treats apnea but if it helps with better sleep, maybe that is how it minimizes Alzheimer's impact on those folks.
