The Indianapolis Times: A Berlin friend of mine last Jan. 30 pushed his way through the crowds which for weeks had been standing outside the Hotel Kaiserhof—crowds of Hitler devotees thirsting for one moment's look at their idol as he might come and go at his headquarters in the hotel.

"Wie gets der Shope Adolf today?” he asked one of the tiny red coated. brass-buttoned bellboys who swarm in the lobby.

It was the common term. "Shone Adolf.” and the boys had bandied it about as freely as any other current slang.

"Ach der Reiehskanzler!” gasped the youngster in awe.

That was the day on which Hitler assumed office.

Only an hour before this he had moved diagonally across the Wilhemplatz from the hotel into the chancellery, and exactly then "Schone Adolf” ceased to be.

It is unheard today, even from opponents in their private homes. Instead, there is heard "the Reichkanzler,” "the Leader.” "Herr Hitler” and the “New Regime.” Men have been beaten since Jan 30 for saying "Shone Adolf.”

All Germans, anti as well as pro, take him seriously.

Two people you should never trust:
A religious leader who tells you how to vote.
A politician who tells you how to pray.
