Hindsight is always 20/20. It's rather evident that even the consultant who proposed the trial design also didn't expect a placebo result to be amazingly large... even larger than the trofinetide treated response. I guess that's what can happen when there are no side effects to bias the blinded trial, and you get very hopeful parents.
