Two items:

I couldn't agree more about avoiding Dell stuff. Their business model was wonderful, their focus on costs was OK, but the descent from inexpensive to cheap to crappy goods is just too sad.

Office 2007 Excel is SLOW. Real slow, like it heats up the dual cores in my Pentium D 3,2 G 3GB machine and is still slow.

To be fair, some stuff seems the same - cell edits, recalcs, drags thru cells.

Charts are incredibly slow to redraw, and editing a text box on a chart is simply impossible. WTF? Do I need DirectX 10 to speed up Excel

Any help in getting it to run faster, short of cpu/mobo changes, would be welcome.

OTOH, my copy of Office 2007 Pro is legit, and free, so ...
