I agree, statins have plenty of side-effects, and they aren't infallible as a solution. It's really just a cholesterol reducer.

But let's be real. Vascepa is just a purified version of EPA - which is very healthy. But it's EPA at its core. It only does so much.

I hear a lot of people make claims about Vascepa that simply aren't true, and there is zero science to back them up.

25% RRR ON TOP OF statins. That's what it can do.

The big problem that I see, is that most people perceive it as they do any other drug - a "fix" after a heart problem develops. But in reality, the real magic in Vascepa (EPA) would be if you were taking it well BEFORE you have heart problems, as a preventative measure. Obviously it will never have that type of indication. But that's where it could be most effective (and I also believe it could have prophylactic benefits for Alzheimer's if taken for years, which is why BRAVE may only come back with modest results).
