If your argument is that the Dr would then put the patient on V instead, you'd expect to see that shift in the weekly Rx. Hasnt happened. In reality, the Dr probably just considers the resulting increase in LDL a consequence of not taking the Rx statin, not worrying about a contributing effect of gL, and starts playing with different types of statin and dosage if the patient stopped due to side effects.
