The only active vaccine program that Merck has is something about Pneumococcal 15-valent Conjugate Vaccine. It has several versions for infant, adults, older people respectively. Merck got FDA approval for the children version in 2022.

In 2019, Merck started the construction of manufacturing facility for the Conjugate Vaccine. The building number is 63.

In November 2021, Merck started the construction of another building next to the building 63 which is building 63A and the new building is also for vaccine. Take a look at the scale of 63A. I would say it is at least two times of the building 63. Here I only talked about one building. In fact, around the same time, Merck had the constructions of buildings 32, 45B, and 50 (freezer facility). Is it coincident that one year after the data lock, five months after the enrollment of the last patient in the combo trial, eight months after the last meeting with Dr. Timothy Cloughesy, the PI of the combo trial Merck started the massive construction of the vaccine manufacturing facilities? I think we will know the answer soon.
