Read what Hoffy and Senti have been writing - they are the company spokespeople. If they are saying it, you can bet the company directed them to put that message out there.

Also, Dave has previously said they would PR acceptance. He is now doubling back on that and saying that he can't comment on whether they would PR acceptance. Why would he do that if not for a change in stance? Normally he would say something like "what have I said about this in the past?" or "why do you think anything has changed?"

So no, the company didn't officially say this, and yes we're all just guessing, but there are strong signs pointing to no validation PR.
