People on the board that complain that there are no revenues year after year while the company gives out glowing reports about advancements with the development of polymers and their integration into PICs should remember a couple of things.

One,is that there has to be a compelling need on the part of legacy makers of chips and network equipment to stop looking for small, integral improvements to semiconductors in modulator chips in order to deal with the rapidly changing customer needs of lower cost, faster transmission speeds and lower power modulators. To accept a novel technology that LWLG has and controls, there needs to be little else except the currently available methods that really meets the need. With increasing projections regarding network traffic and pressure to reduce power, polymers are showing up as a possible answer. The fact that the specs have only gotten better over the last few years with new generations of Perkinamine makes it stand out more. Stability only recently has been sufficiently proven. All this has taken time.

Second, the integration into semiconductor manufacturing had to be proven and tested for quality and then stability. Lightwave had to help chip companies along the way as there were many issues to solve. That has taken much time over the past couple years. Moving those chips that have tested well into transceiver packages has to happen (hopefully they are far enough along with this to be ready to offer transceivers for sale in the near future).

The reality is you can't have meaningful sales until all the details are worked through and proven. Unfortunately it has taken years. Truly game changing technology usually does take years. The only thing that has kept me in here is that problems have been solved one by one keeping the potential going and getting stronger with each innovation. Some people are the glass is half full types, some are the glass is half empty types and they all express their opinions openly. Commercialization is close and if you don't believe that you can always move on.
