In 2024, North America could face electricity shortages

In a recent report, the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), which oversees the North American power grid, predicts that a majority of regions in the United States and the Canada will not have sufficient electricity supply to reliably meet demand in extreme weather conditions. Two regions of the central United States have even been designated by NERC as having a « high risk » of disturbances, even under normal circumstances. One of these regions extends from the American-Canadian border of Michigan and Minnesota to Louisiana, on the southern coast of the Gulf of Mexico, and the other encompasses Tennessee as well as parts of Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Missouri, and Kentucky.

The British media also points to the criston mining facilities, which consume a lot of energy and which develop in several states, particularly Texas. McKinsey's consulting firm says energy consumption in data centers in the United States could also double by 2030. The general trend towards electrification of heating and transport systems also creates new peaks in electricity demand in winter, which are in addition to those observed in summer with the increased use of air conditioning.

Could it be that there is a strategy to distract people away from looking at the basic data?
Is all this an exercise to create more and more forum verbiage to drown out any serious discussion of evidence?
