the Dollar is not " invincible " . ALL fiat currencies die . not some of them , ALL of them . A piece of paper IS in fact worth nothing . A piece of paper can be destroyed . An ounce of Gold cannot be destroyed . If you throw an ounce of Gold bullion into a pit of molten lava , the ounce of Gold isn't " destroyed " , it is simply diluted ( absorbed back into the planet that which created it ) . Now try to understand the facts that humans respect , Gold existed on Earth before humans did . fiat currencies did not exist before the invention of the wheel . for the most part everything you mention in your posts is spot on , however , on Earth , humans recognize the value of Gold and Gold will never be worth nothing and will NEVER not be accepted as a means to acquire products/services . humans are corrupt . Gold and Silver are not . look at the forever chart for Gold bullion .
