You can think whatever you want. You will no matter what. But the fact is I am a stockholder. I expect top-notch management to be running my company, not a guy with a checkered past who has no credibility among professional biotech investors. My bad was I didn’t due the appropriate due diligence I should have before getting into AVXL. Lesson learned. But I’m in it now and I’ll ride it out.

Speaking of institutional biotech investors, these people do a great deal of due diligence before buying a stock. For these folks, credibility of management and management’s track record are the most important factors to consider. Any portfolio manager worth his salt will have a researcher on staff do a deep background check on the CEO. If the CEO has ANY black marks whatsoever, that’s the end of it. There are plenty of fish in the sea and no one is going to risk his or her career or reputation on a sketchy situation. Is it any wonder not a single professional biotech investor owns a share, or why Missling had to resort to using a vulture investor to fund the company? When you can’t raise money from real investors, you turn to the vultures.

This is obvious and not complicated. Buy hey, maybe the guy will stumble into success. We’ll see.

Happy Kwanzaa Week.
