Happy Birthday Captain! I turned 70 at the beginning of the month. Two days later I went to my surgeon to investigate a groin pull that I thought may have torn the hernia repair I had two years earlier. As he palpated the area, he noticed a hard nodule on a lymph node in the same area. He suggested a CT scan, which confirmed the presence of a suspicious node. After that, a needle biopsy which came back with a diagnosis of metastatic adenocarcinoma. Apparently the colorectal surgery I had the year before to remove an adenocarcinoma in the anal canal had already started to metastasize to the closest lymph node and wasn't visible immediately following surgery. So, now I am looking at expected 6 months of radiation and chemotherapy treatment that we hope will eliminate the metastases. I find myself wishing that they had moved the DIRECT trials to phase II sooner and were on the verge of getting that approved as well. Now I can only hope that if things go south with my current treatment, that maybe there will be a DIRECT trial I can get into.

Having been invested here since 2013, it has always been about more than the money. I always felt that someday someone I love, or even I, might benefit from this amazing technology. Well, here I am, hoping to see the day that DCVAX is SOC in all solid tumor cancers so the prognosis is better for all cancer patients. Go NWBO and F---Cancer, and F--- the people who have tried to kill this company for the past 10 years.
