We had some severe Winters down here in Texas over the last few years.
Alot of Friends and some Family opted to go all Electric for Water Heaters and Kitchen Stoves....etc...etc..
The Ranch that I spend the most time at has 3 x 500 gallon Propane Tanks always full.
Couple this with 2 x Generac Propane Generators .... i am fat and toasty all winter long
It's cheaper - cleaner and more reliable
When you have Propane .... you can heat - cook - have light and the list goes on. And I refill my BBQ bottles for the pit myself.
These Solar and Wind for Electric Generation are not consistent plus the maintenance associated does not make sense to me.
And how are you going to charge your Electric Car when the power goes out.
And when the Electric goes out for any amount of time..... i don't answer my phone.....because everybody wants to come out to visit all of a sudden.
Last time the power went out....after 3 days..... and Family coming to visit.... I had no beer....no whiskey...no Cokes ....no Dr. Pepper....no shampoo....no clean towels....and you get the picture.
