It was a 10,000 percent gain from the lows, not necessarily from the average where they naked shorted. Secondly just because it was in the trips for a awhile would not have make it easy to cover. Stock was very illiquid at the time, and to close out naked short you need to buy back counterfeits not real shares. This would have cause price to rise sky high. Also the stock was suspended at that point, they were expecting revocation and then they got the PFR to delay even further.
