TC bought further into the company to keep his job alive, not to keep the LQMT doors open.

LQMT loses its tenant Matterhackers and can't find a prompt replacement, the building requires a unforeseen large expense like a new roof, or if there is a spike in real estate taxes....these things spell some real trouble for the company.

Or worse, LQMT thinks it can somehow go toe to toe with Apple in a courtroom because this ridiculous Evie Ring is NOT a violation of of the agreement with Apple....the lawyers will eat up whatever it is we have in the bank in a matter of months. I don't know that LQMT could cover the retainer to be honest.
