Mets can't be holding out to sign him. They need to get two more starters besides him, and pretty much and entire bullpen after diaz and raley. And multiple bats. Of course I know this has limited to no chance to happen. So I see more holes on a roster than swiss cheese and I feel the mets are gonna sign Yamamoto because there hoping it will make fans get excited, for me it will be that's nice, what is next, because he is an unproven pitcher, who could have a 4.5 era next year for all I know. He could also have a 2.5 era. But for what your gonna pay it better be the latter. I think the mets best way to be relevant is to build up a super bullpen it isn't the most exciting thing, but probably the easist thing to do, bring in Hader, the idea of Hader and Diaz at the back end could make something very scary for teams to deal with in the late innings.
But if people think i'm making too much of the depth and the holes the mets only have 28 guys on the 40 man right now i Believe. That is alot of work to do. This gm has his work cut out for him and he is allready off to a bad start, with getting a manager from the yankees of all teams that is inexperianced, and these pete alonso rumors keep never going away. Personally I would love to see what this organzation does if Yamamoto and Ohtani don't come here, because than they can't hide this impending disaster of a roster, with headlines. And they love to talk about the prospects they acquired, and maybe one or two work out. Problem is none of them are pitchers. So once again I go back to the theory who is gonna pitch. All is just my opinion, and I could always be wrong though.
