Overall, many were not pleased with the call but it may be that there is a long-term plan in place for simultaneous approvals.

Given that the EMA process will take more time, it may make sense that approval is sought there first. Anavex can work first on that process, knowing that many of the documents used for EMA can also be used for FDA approval.

By managing both processes in tandem, getting EMA approval first will put additional pressure on FDA to expedite their review and approval. In such a case, simultaneous or near simultaneous approvals would have an even more positive impact on the share price.
