It's fun to think this however both gaps were also on days the $XBI gapped too. Did the index go up in "anticipation of news"? I think not.

News is pending for sure, but that's not in the technicals IMO. The technicals tell me $AVXL trading is not "news" related. Now the bullishness of the broader indexes does bode well for bullishness in $AVXL.

And I absolutely agree on these points.

The problem, in my mind, is the shelf of resistance @ approx $8 or so.

I await conviction with price and volume

I also await and hope for something juicy and material along with the normally boring financials for $AVXL on Monday.
