3M names healthcare spinoff, Solventum—a portmanteau of “solving” and “momentum”:

The healthcare segment comprises about 25% of 3M's worldwide sales, and it has a higher profit margin than the company as a whole.

3M has not yet disclosed whether the spin will be accomplished via a direct distribution to 3M shareholders or via a voluntary exchange offer; in either case the spin, which is planned for 1H24, is tax-free for 3M’s US shareholders.
