The Market for a Safe, Effective Insomnia Drug

Our findings suggest that the relative estimated loss of economic output [from insufficient sleep] is highest for Japan (1.86 to 2.92 % of GDP), followed by the U.S (1.56 to 2.28 % of GDP), the UK (1.36 to 1.86 % of GDP), Germany (1.02 to 1.56 % of GDP) and Canada (0.85 to 1.56 % of GDP). This represents large annual macroeconomic costs related to insufficient sleep across five OECD countries ($ 457 billion to $ 680 billion in total).

This study, in SLEEP, the benchmark international journal for sleep and circadian science. determined that in the five major economic countries in the world, insufficient sleep difficulties cause a loss of between $457 billion and $680 billion dollars each year. ($680 billion is 680,000 million dollars.)

Think there might be a market for a safe, effective new drug that facilitates sound sleep? Might it be discovered and proven in new clinical trials that 10mg of blarcamesine, once every day or two, dramatically improves sleep, with consequent economic outcomes?

Might one suppose that Dr. Missling and his team of Anavex experts have already plugged in the insomnia numbers when considering eventual new markets for their drugs, which repeatedly have been shown to facilitate safe, effective sleep?

Eventually, big as they will be, Anavex will be more than just CNS drugs.
