Adapting a Clinical Practice Guideline for Management of Patients with Knee and Hip Osteoarthritis by Hong Kong Physiotherapists

We conditionally recommend using a wearable pulsed electromagnetic field device to reduce pain and improve function for patients with knee OA.
Remarks: A wearable pulsed radiofrequency energy device (ActiPatch) can be used as adjunctive therapy. We suggest the following parameters for 12 h/day for 4 weeks: carrier frequency at 27.12 MHz; 1000 Hz pulse rate; 100 µs burst width; and peak burst output power ~0.0098 W/surface area of ~103 cm2.
