I knew all about it. She came knocking on our door determined to do an article, stating that her editor asked her to write one because he was "really really into the airship." Weak, totally transparent reason, I suspected something was up.
However, I think it was better to have cooperated with her and let her interview some of our people rather than turn her away. It could have been 10x worse.
I believe she strung together unrelated facts and opinion presented as fact (particularly the lies by Jones and Sands) and just threw it all into a PlayDoh extruder and cranked out this piece of trash. As a former financial journalist, if I had gone to my editor with what she wrote, he would have fired me on the spot. Every word of every sentence needs to be substantiated and factual. But this is the New Times and I believe their editorial policy apparently is to fill the paper with ads for transsexual escorts, so anything to fill the pages between those ads seems to pass as journalism by the editors there. She is probably more scary than Seth Jayson because she actually gets paid for this and allegedly has won an award.
