As long as the device is stable for the industry required accelerated aging hours, it doesn’t really matter if the other materials are technically more stable. Indium phosphide and lithium niobate are inorganic crystalline materials so naturally they’re going to be more stable than an organic polymer.

The 2-5k hours of accelerated aging testing implies YEARS in an operating environment.

At this point, in my opinion, we’re at the point where remaining hurdles are related to the design-in to a packaged transceiver.
