Good article---but I doubt even Jeter thought Stanton's performance would degrade this quickly----he came to NY at age 28 after an all-world season---I imagine the rationale was he'd be productive for 6-7 seasons (34-35 ish) and after that the Marlins kick in $10M/per for the last 3 easing the most likely pain....

Stanton had a good 1st season 2018 along with 2021 here and now he is in the embarrassment phase---the only player who has looked worse at the dish was Alvarez last nite facing Monty...
