it is interesting to note that many of the WTG crowd here at Anavex were giving Cassava low marks from the beginning.

So what? From the Final Investigation Report: "However, absent access to primary research materials, it is not possible to make definitive assessments for the 31 specific allegations. But to be clear, the committee concludes that Dr. Wang's inability or unwillingness to provide primary research materials to this investigation represents egregious misconduct."

So...this report was not released by CUNY but was likely furnished to it several months ago by the investigating committee without action by CUNY to date. Any unwillingness by Wang to voluntarily submit original data (if he even kept it for such an extended period) does not constitute fraud. The bottom line is the investigation report, in summary, makes unproven allegations of misconduct. The fact that the draft report was leaked to Science (with no action by CUNY) makes this report look mainly like an extraordinary hit piece. Nevertheless, the optics of the report are very damaging.
