I don't think this is your domain of understanding...... testing, sample sizes, Telecordia standard testing requirements.

Cisco (for example) uses a sample size of 11 devices for active optical components/ modules.
Now that is a very small sample size for testing but....
If you run those samples for several thousand hours you get lots of data coming back because you are running multiple tests. Then you are testing many factors under these extreme conditions.

According to Telecordia standards that Cisco follows, a sample size of 11 is just fine.

These meet the requirements of Telecordia GR-1221-CORE, Issue 2 requirements and Telecordia GR-458-CORE.


I just don't think that fabrication in foundries and telecordia testing is something you know much about.
