Showalter will not return as Mets' manager in 2024

Following Saturday’s penultimate game of the season, Mets general manager Billy Eppler informed Showalter that he could either resign or be fired. Showalter, who had one year left on his contract, chose the latter route.

“I think the players know I would never quit or resign,” Showalter said.



Good for him. His players will miss him.
