12:03 PM EDT, 09/25/2023 (MT Newswires) -- GlobalFoundries (GFS) said Monday it has filed for federal financial support to expand and modernize its chip manufacturing facilities in the US.
The chipmaker said it has submitted applications to participate in the federal grants and investment tax credits under the US CHIPS and Science Act, which aims to invest $53 billion in the country's semiconductor industry.

GlobalFoundries shares gained 0.3% in recent Monday trading.
