Reconnaissance Energy Africa provides drilling update on Prospect I in Namibia

Reconnaissance Energy Africa CEO Brian Reinsborough joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share a drilling update on Prospect I, located onshore Namibia within Petroleum Exploration Licence 073. Prospect I represents the company’s largest exploration target to date. It is estimated to hold approximately 365 million barrels of unrisked and 32 million barrels of risked prospective light to medium oil resources, or alternatively, 1.9 trillion cubic feet of unrisked and 140 billion cubic feet of risked prospective natural gas resources, based on a 100% working interest. Reinsborough reported that pre-construction activities are progressing on schedule and that pre-drill evaluations have been successfully completed. Drilling is planned to reach a target depth of 3,800 metres, with the flexibility to drill deeper depending on subsurface conditions—similar to the company’s approach with the Naingopo exploration well. The Otavi geological section is anticipated to range between 1,500 and 1,800 metres in thickness, depending on total drilling depth. Insights gained from the Naingopo well have significantly enhanced ReconAfrica’s understanding of the Damara Fold Belt, particularly regarding time-depth migration and structural interpretation of the Mulden and Otavi formations. This same reservoir zone at Naingopo exhibited more than 50 metres of reservoir-quality carbonates and oil shows, underscoring its potential. Pantheon Resources provides update on MEGREZ-1 flow testing results

Pantheon Resources Chairman David Hobbs and CEO Max Easley joined Steve Darling from Proactive to share preliminary flow test results from the Megrez-1 well in Alaska. The well is part of a six-interval testing program, and the first interval tested, the Topset 1 (TS1) reservoir, was fracture stimulated across 290 feet between 7,165 and 7,453 feet measured depth (MD). The well produced sustained strong liquid rates for 12 days, exceeding 1,000 barrels per day by the end of the flow-back period. However, no appreciable hydrocarbons were recovered during this initial test. Despite this, Easley noted the data reveals the TS1 reservoir is oil bearing but likely located within a transition zone that contains limited to no mobile oil or gas. Importantly, the technical data gathered from this interval has boosted the company's confidence in the five remaining, shallower intervals still to be tested. These higher zones are believed to hold greater potential for mobile hydrocarbons and increased productivity. TS1 will now be abandoned, and preparations are underway to begin testing the Lower Prince Creek interval. High-pressure pumping equipment is currently being mobilized to the Megrez pad. SSV Capital repays £2.5M early, eyes expansion

SSV Capital PLC CEO Ankur Ghosh talked with Proactive about the company’s early loan repayment, expansion in fintech and real estate, and upcoming plans for 2025. SSV Capital has made strides in solidifying its financial position, having repaid a £2.5 million convertible loan note ahead of schedule. Ghosh attributed the decision to strong investor trust and confidence in the company’s banking and fintech operations. “If our balance sheet is strong, why can’t we repay them early?” he stated, highlighting the company's proactive approach even in a challenging financial climate. Ghosh also discussed momentum behind SSV Smart Pay, noting positive reception from both merchants and customers and ambitious targets of scaling to 2 million transactions this year. Alkane hits high-grade gold at Tomingley

Alkane Resources Ltd managing director Nic Earner talked with Proactive about recent high-grade gold intercepts and ongoing resource expansion at the Tomingley gold operations in New South Wales. Earner detailed strong results from underground drilling at both the Caloma and Roswell zones, with intercepts showing multiple grams per tonne over substantial widths. “We’ve had some very, very high-grade hits… tens of metres at plus ten grams in Roswell,” he noted, highlighting the significant contribution these results will make to near-term reserve updates and future production planning. The company is confident these results will support mine life extensions well into the 2030s. Reserve and resource updates, including for Caloma One and Caloma Two, are expected in the August–September period, following analysis of the June 30 data. Earner also touched on Alkane’s recent financial performance, stating: “It’s been a great quarter… we had a great cash build,” helped by strong production and a high Australian-dollar gold price. He confirmed guidance remains on track, with 17,500 ounces produced and expectations of reaching 19,000 ounces by quarter end. Alkane continues to advance permitting for the highway relocation and is actively progressing exploration across both the Boda-Kaiser project and Tomingley region.
