Correct. I had more than an hour or two out on the ramp, repairing things.

I remember one time when after a fuel controller change, I had to reschedule the VIG's (Variable inlet guide vanes) on the engine. It was winter and even though the run up area was plowed out, it was all iced over. As I tried to go to the percentage N2 RPM I needed, the aircraft started to slide on the run up pad. So I inched up a little and put the engines in reverse. This melted the ice where the wheels were and then I pulled a little more power and backed the aircraft up so that the wheels were back in the dry spots.

After that, I could run up to the power needed to re-schedule the VIG's without sliding.

Sometimes you have to think outside the box to get things done.
