Severity of these effects depends on disturbance size, proximity to the auroral zone, and the conductivity structure of the Earth. Also significant are system parameters such as the use of higher resistance coatings on pipelines and the linking of power systems into larger networks.

Notice along with electrical grid, pipelines and train tracks are impacted. This is why there is increasing pipeline fires and train derailments. Due to Tesla and other EVs being electric, this has a higher probability of impacting them due to their high voltage wiring in addition to their 12v. This can even cause ICE vehicles electrical systems to catch fire. However there are devices which can reduce this likelihood.
